- Finally, I was at a stage where I considered the time to be right to take a road test on this, what had been, rather troubled machine to say the least. The 15 mile course beckoned and the machine performed, ran and behaved well overall and I believe it may even improve here and there with a few more bedding in miles done.
For anyone interested, this was filmed with my Kodak Pixpro camera, some of what I say during the ride seems harder to hear than with the Fuji camera, when that is used.
Oh how I’d love to ride one of those again before I get my wooden overcoat! That’s a handsome bike. Was always very fond of the A10 range. Saw one on ebay the other day that had an alternator chaincase, seems it’d been a police bike so had two electrical systems, a dynamo as usual plus the crankshaft alternator to drive the extra electric kit that the police bikes needed. It’s probably still there if you’re curious to see such a rarity.
That looked like a very enjoyable ride, sounds great, looks very stable. I'd expect that to be a lot of relaxed fun once it's settled in. Persistence and attention to detail paid off in the end, cracking job, very well done.
Thank you.
Visually superb, audially plagued with wind noise. Perhaps one of those squeaky toy/dead rat jobs may help. What a nice ride on a fairly quiet bike. I wouldn't say no to one of those.
What a great route, perfect for the bike, wouldn't mind riding round there myself. The audio was a bit noisy with the wind, but I'm sure you'll get that sorted too. Thank you.🙂👍👍
This is now a very well sorted and good looking bike, great problem solving Paul, the owner should be pleased.
Thank you.
G'day Paul, I'm glad your finished and the bike is ready to hand back to the owner, he will be happy 😁 with your work and able to just get on and go, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.
Happy to see her completed for the owner, nice test ride my best wishes to you from the Philippines ❤️👍💪😉😄😁🏁🏍️🛺🐏🇵🇭🏴⭐
Thanks 👍
Worth all the effort and perseverance Paul the owner will really like it, that sounds like the sixties!!!
Looks beautiful, lovely new tyres!
Well whats done is done. Sounds nice. Goes well.
Kudos Paul for putting this all out there. We may not agree but at least it makes for interesting conversation.
Blessing and peace.
Thank you.
That looked like a good ride, very few cars on the road made more enjoyable with a well sorted bike. I'm envious.
Absolutely brilliant picture quality and audio was superb, thanks Paul.
Thank you!
You can’t be serious! Videos are great and likewise the song from the engine and exhaust ….but it is nearly impossible to hear the spoken words while on the move due to the lack of a windscreen (so-called dead cat) over the microphone
@J_Creek54 I only listen to the bike , that's what the program is about , isn't it ?
what a beautiful bike.
Goes a treat and looks superb
Good result leaving in far better condition than received another job well done 👍
Thanks 👍
A proper bike with soul. Brilliant video thanks!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
You had to pull out the stops on this one but you overcame Paul! A lot of work but what a great journey! The old racer “can do” pulled through again!👍
Thanks 👍
Stunning looking bike
Very nice region for riding, testing, and enjoying a bike! It looks very similar to our county and township roads here in the rolling hills of southern Wisconsin. You guys have more hedges and stone walls, we have more cows and bars! The Beezer seems to be a well sorted, safe, reliable machine now. Best wishes!
Thanks! 👍
Excellent result 👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Very nice looking bike and a very good job of you, Paul! Interesting perspectives with the new camera, but the sound on faster road sections is a bit harsh.
Think I'd prefer the flesh and blood leg over the electric version any day! Lovely ride! 😊
Looks a lot better with the new tyres
Lovely ride out and lovely sound 👍👌😎
Thanks 👍
Great job paul bike sounds lovely ❤
Thank you!
Excellent customer liason with the component matching front wheel solution l thought.
Thanks 👍
Yhanks Paul.
i like the A10 / A7, my first big bike was a rather tatty golden flash, an early plunger with a cast head and the gearbox bolted to the back of the motor
Is there much difference between a super rocket and a standard a10 speed wise I mean ?good video 👍
hi Paul looks and sounds good now one more done? hope the owner loves and looks after it now its had the P Henshaw's love top job TOP MAN cheers stay safe thanks for the ride.
Thanks!
Lovely bike but would like to have seen some harder riding and bigger roads with cars to see how it matches modern traffic.
Too much salt and slime on the roads for any daredevil antics at this time of year! It would have no problem at all keeping up with modern traffic!
The ammeter shaking is an eye sore! Also the speedo is suppose to be on the left and the tacho on the right
I didn't fit the clocks, that would be down to the 'experts' who supposedly 'restored' the machine. I did what the owner asked for successfully, which is all that matters to me and him.
Top job.
Thanks!
Its not as rattley as last ride out perhaps the new oil has done the trick 👍
Green oil might be not sure but a very good quality brand called Brad Penn still refined in Pennsylvania. Old car guy's love the stuff especially racers.
They make a break in oil.
Lovely bikes A10s. Would have another Rocket in a Flash...
I’d be happy with just a Flash!😂
Sorry but I had to give up on this video because the wind noise is excessive. Perhaps a little attention to the microphone might be in order. Love the bike though; brings back fond distant memories of my Gold Flash.
Could be my next new old bike
In 56 years of motorcycling I have seen thousands of pounds worth of damage done to motorcycle engines by owners skimping on oil changes and trying to save money by using inferior oils. Mostly on Japanese motorcycles
Was you using your new camera Paul. the picture was excellent.
Yes l thought the picture and camera position superb. One day Paul might even invest in some microphone technology. 😁
Yes, I used the Kodak for this one.
Gosh, it's pulling some high gearing effortlessly. Is that because of the higher compression compared to 'lesser' models of A10 ?
Possibly - it certainly felt quite high geared.
The cosmetics looked good, perhaps less so the mechanical stuff, before you worked your magic of course 👍🏼
As I've been following this, YT has presented me with clips of other modified A10s, incl this one from, I gather, SRM. Has yours the same electric start? Also has a TLS front, which made me do a double-take.
Is the gearing slightly taller than standard? I noticed that the clock needles weren't aligned in top, whereas mine are.
Hi - I think the gearing may well have been raised over standard.
Hi Paul, is the Amp meter loose?
Yes, and falling apart!
@@paulhenshaw4514 All that glitters isn't gold. Not so super this rocket?
It's ok now, but that ammeter is a cheap, nasty repro item.
I've seen those TLS brake retrofits done before, but always with the eight inch backing plate which will fit the stock eight in drum. Do you think the seven inch TLS is better than the eight inch SLS?
I am not sure, to be honest, but an 8 inch TLS ought to be an improvement.
I know it's to provide rear suspension travel but it looks as if the rear mudguard has fallen out with the back wheel.
Visually it always looked very strange.
How come Japanese bikes never had to do this!
Some modern bikes have rear ends which have much bigger gaps.
What is wrong with the back wheel has had an argument with the mudguard.
That is pretty much how these and the Goldies were.
Nice sounding bike, but some gear whine.
You want to hear a Tiger Cub in third!
I think that might be the starter gears. My Dbd34 sound the same after the starter was fitted.
15 miles is hardly a road test! 150 with a tea break half way.
Not on dirty, salted winter roads and on someone else's shiny pride and joy. I learned what I needed to know in 15 and I have a kettle at home.
